Yakuza 4 heading West

Sega today announced that its highly anticipated sequel, Yakuza 4 would be arriving in North America and Europe in spring 2011. The game was first unveiled at TGS 2009 and was released in Japan in March 2010. Since then the game has shipped 560,000 copies.

Game Designer, Toshihiro Nagoshi will be available to field questions from the fans after the 2010 E3 Expo.  “In a move that will be sure to thrill Yakuza fans outside of Japan, we’re pleased to announce that Sega West will indeed be releasing ‘Yakuza 4′ in Spring 2011 on Yakuza’s traditional home, the PlayStation 3.” For the first time, western fans will be able to experience the Japanese underworld not just through the eyes of Kiryu Kazuma, but three intriguing new characters including a homeless man, a detective and an ex-con, each with their own compelling back-story and a gripping interwoven plot.

The game has been well received in Japan with popular Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu awarding it a 38 out of 40. Expect further details to be revealed at E3.
