Yakuza 4 is the best selling PS3 game in Japan in 2010

Disclosed figures reveal that Yakuza 4 has taken the honour of the top selling game in Japan in 2010, managing to ship 577,199 copies. However, the game could barely scratch the surface of the Top 10, landing in at 16.

The list was dominated by handheld and Wii titles. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd runs away with the top spot with 3,849,907 copies sold. No surprise here. Pokémon Black and White comes in at a close second.  The top-selling first party Sony game on the list was Gran Turismo 5 at 17th with sales standing at 563,378.

As expected, 360 software sales were severely lagging behind, with the best selling title being Monster Hunter Frontier with 138,596 sales, putting it on the 86th spot on the list. The 360′s niggest exclusive of last year only managed to sell 56,104 copies, lending it the 186th spot.
